Thank you all for your patience while we updated information for the 2019 Sunday Showcase Season.  There have been changes made to the Teams Contact lists, Tournament Information Section and we added a Schedule Section for the upcoming Season!  Please feel free to email any questions to Bob Haney or Mike Lawson, whose email and phone numbers are on the main Sunday Showcase page.

About Sunday Showcase

Sunday Showcase is a networking resource for youth baseball coaches and teams in the Indianapolis area to find tournaments, games, rules and contact information.

What is Sunday Showcase?

It is not really a league.  Sunday Showcase is a means of teams networking to schedule games.  With the number of teams that participate today, everyone should be able to get as many games as they want to play. It seems the number of teams grows each year.

Who is Sunday Showcase for?

Sunday Showcase is for any team that wants to schedule games! Over the years, the program has primarily been made up of B level travel/all-star teams - teams where a large number of the players play in a recreational league throughout the week and then play travel baseball on Sunday. There are a fair number of A (Pure Travel) teams that also participate.

When are the games played?

Most of the games are played on Sunday.  However, games can be scheduled throughout the week and Saturday.  It is really up to the coaches.  Remember, you entirely set your own schedule.

What are the age groups?

The age groups are 6 years old through 14 years old.

What is the cost?

Traditionally, the only cost per team per game has been 1/2 of the umpire cost of each game plus a brand new baseball for each game. Although it is not mandatory, teams may donate to help Sunday Showcase offset the costs of maintaining the website. .

What about Insurance?

We recommend that every team carry insurance.  Insurance options for coaches to consider may be posted on the website. There also is a waiver form located on the site.  If your players all participate in the same recreational league, check with your league.  They may already have insurance.

What does Sunday Showcase start and when does it end?

Typically, teams start play the 2nd to 3rd Sunday in April through around the 3rd Sunday in June.  In the months of July and early August, the teams play in tournaments all around Central Indiana.  Once again, the schedule is entirely up to you.

How do I get contact information?

All of the 2018 information has been rolled over to 2019.  Another great way to get contact information is to attend the Sunday Showcase meeting.

What should I expect from the Sunday Showcase Meeting?

We will have a very brief introduction of what Sunday Showcase is for 2019.  We will review the website and the content that is posted.   Anticipate that this part of the meeting will only last for about 15 minutes.  After that, everyone is free to meet all of the other coaches and begin the scheduling of games.  That can last as long as an hour. Plan on being there for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

When is the Sunday Showcase Meeting?

The 2019 Sunday Showcase meeting will take place February 9th at the Christian Park Community Center. The address for the Community Center is 4200 E English Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46201. The meeting times are as follows:

10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. - 7u, 8u, 9u and 10u

12:30pm - 2pm - 11u, 12u, 13u and 14u

· Attend the meeting if at all possible.  This is a great way to meet your fellow coaches and schedule games.  Up to 80% of the entire season scheduling happens at the meeting.

· BE PREPARED... Know what dates you can play and host games.  If you can do this, you will be able to walk away from the meeting with a complete schedule for the 2019 schedule.

· If you were on the contact list last year, please visit the Sunday Showcase link at the top of the page and review your information on the teams by age tab.  Send Bob Haney an email at to update your information for 2019. (Please tell him the age group for 2019).  This will help him post a list of coaches before the meeting ever begins.  This will save you the time of checking and/or updating your information at the meeting.  You will already have that out of the way. Plus you can begin scheduling games.

· Tell the other coaches within in your organization about the meeting. Especially reach out to the new 6 and 7 year old coaches. They need assistance with getting a team together and how everything fits together.

· Don't WAIT!  The longer you wait, the tougher it will be to get games.

When submitting contact information, we suggest you review the data for the team’s age. With your team information, please add your location (town) with the team name. The level of play is described at the bottom of the data matrix. This helps coaches contact teams of like talent. It helps for the team age to be referenced on all correspondence. Field size should indicate base path length.
